Pictured above is a letter from my Grandmother, I called her MeeMaw.

You'll have to excuse the handwriting, she wrote this after she had her stroke in 2010.

MeeMaw was the best grandmother. She doted on each of her grandkids and I always looked forward to my visits with her. I loved her house, her little dog Getcha, and her cookie jar! As a kid, I was convinced that she made the pink and white frosted animal cookies herself, because I had only ever had them at her house!

When I was younger, I was always smaller than other kids my age. We later learned that this was because I had Celiac's Disease. At a couple yearly check ups I wasn't even in the 1 percentile for height or weight. Being small made me really good at hide and seek, but it had other impacts on my self esteem and self confidence while growing up.

MeeMaw always reminded me that I was capable of so much. She said that no one should call me little bit, but I should be called Little Much because of all that I can do. From then on she started to call me Little Much as a special nickname.

I've always been internally motivated, a bit stubborn, a big fan of DIY projects, and optimistic enough to try lots of different things. I've taken down trees to do landscaping work, reupholstered chairs, and tried learning to ride a unicycle. I've performed in talent shows, thrived in art camps, joined the swim team, soccer team, tennis team, and many other extracurricular activities. My favorite things are being creative, active, and helping others.

I owe a lot of my willingness to try new things to my supportive parents and family, my wonderful husband, and the confidence and security I have found in my relationship with Christ.

I wanted to name this blog Little Much as a reminder of the impact those words had on me when I was younger and still today. I keep this letter from my MeeMaw on my desk. At least once a year I happen to read her letter (have a good cry) and remember her love and constant encouragement.

I hope this blog shares some love and encouragement with you.

Danielle
